The pregnancy activity:
If you crave busy-work while waiting for your little bundle to arrive, this is the activity for you. Simply start out with a basic design and practice, practice, practice, and practive some more. By the time your baby arrives, you'll be making sweaters, blankets and scarves for everyone!
Preparation:
Any craft store will be full of knitting supplies including starter kits which include all the supplies. We suggest starting out with an easy and straight design such as a scarf. There are a number of different knitting techniques and some are easier than others. Try starting out with a simple techique such as knitting with slip knots. You'll also have a choice of yarns. We recommend starting with basic yarn before advancing to chenille, confetti or shag yarns.
Variations:
If you have the desire, why not learn from an expert? Head to a local retirement home and see if there are residents who know how to knit. We're sure there will be. These residents would be delighted to provide lessons and would enjoy the company.
YeahBaby.com thoughts:
Your knitting can yield results. Make your baby a blanket or cap!
