By now, it may be becoming obvious to others that you're expecting. You can certainly hide that beautiful bump under some baggy clothes, but we prefer the showier alternative. There are some beautiful 2nd trimester maternity clothes out there. Treat yourself to a cute new outfit.
You may also be ready to tell friends and family the big news. Have you decided how you're going to do this? Whether you go with a creative, or straightforward approach, they will be delighted to hear the news!
Now that you're officially in the 2nd trimester, you're venturing into 'feel good' territory. This trimester is when most pregnant women report feeling their best. The morning sickness has decreased, and you're not yet big and uncomfortable. In short, life is good!
It's important now and throughout your pregnancy to enjoy some quality alone time. After all, all work and no play makes Jane a dull mommy! Here's a fun and creative list of pregnancy activities to jump start your imagination. A little fun is not only good for you, but your baby will enjoy the results as well.
You're probably scheduled for another prenatal appointment soon. At this apponitment, you can expect the doctor to talk about prenatals and their importance. He or she will most likely give you a prescription if you don't already have one. Your blood pressure, weight, urine, and fundal height (or the growth of the uterus) will be checked. The doctor will also listen for baby's heart tones. Fun!

Congrats mama, you're officially in the 2nd trimester! Your placenta is developed, and now providing oxygen, nutrients, and waste disposal for your baby. It's also taking on hormonal duties, which before now, was left up to your own body. We like to think of the placenta as a good friend--just when things are getting really tough, she takes over the hard parts and gives you a break.

Also, your little bundle is starting to explore his tiny home. At this stage the fetus' palms have gained sensation, and he might start touching his face, mouth, and head. He may even put his thumb in his mouth. Where's the camera? Oh wait...he's still inside!
Baby is still tiny, weighing in at 1 ounce. That's the equivalent of the volume of 2 tablespoons.

Although providing support to your partner is priceless, you should also take time to venture out solo. Go play your favorite sport. Get together with your buddies. Leave work an hour or two early some day and enjoy some alone time. You deserve it!
