Week #2 offers the first days you are ready to conceive. So grab the candles, your favorite love ballad, and get busy!
During week 2, your body is getting ready to ovulate. Your ovary will release an egg, and that egg will drop into the fallopian tube where it will eagerly await our friend, the sperm. For most women on a 28-day cycle, ovulation occurs on day 14. Some women are actually able to feel the egg bursting out from the ovary. This is called 'Mittleschmertz' (or middle pain) and produces a slight pain on one side of the lower abdomen.
Okay, back to the sex. You and your man are doing your thing...Barry White is doing his thing. Everything is perfect. When your man ejaculates, millions of sperm burst through the gates in a mad rush to fertilize that egg--your egg! Once one of these little thoroughbreads finds his target, it's magic time. Wham, boom, bam--the egg is now fertilized! No longer separate, the sperm/egg combo is now called a zygote.
Believe it or not, the gender of the baby is determined the instant the egg is fertilized. The sperm determines the sex, as it contains both a Y (male) and an X (female) chromosome. The egg contains an X (female) chromosome. If a sperm containing a Y chromosome hits the egg, it's male. If it contains an X chromosome, it's female.
And if you're hoping for multiples, your chances of getting twins are 1 in 89. Now's a good time to place your bets!

As many as 3.5 million sperm are working hard to get this party started. If any one of them is successful, you're on your way little one!

Sex isn't just recreational any more, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. Make the most of it; no matter what the desired end result, this 'work' could be a lot of fun!
