It's common to still be pregnant in week 41. If you are, don't worry, your time is coming very soon. Especially for first time mothers, delivering after your due date is very common.
If you haven't had your baby yet, it's a good idea to make some last minute preparations for life after the hospital. There are probably any number of people who would love to help out with your new responsibilities. Parents, in-laws, other family members, and friends will likely be very willing to assist you in any way possible. After all, everyone wants to see the baby! If you want help for your first week, it's wise to schedule it. Otherwise, you could wind up with a house full of people!
You may prefer a quiet return home with your baby. This is perfectly fine. Just let family and friends know your preferences, so they don't show up unexpectedly.

If you haven't delivered yet, your baby probably isn't going to change much. Beyond 40 weeks, babies don't gain much weight. They're just waiting for signal clearance. It'll happen soon.
We'd like to take a moment to wish you very well in your post-pregnancy life. It's truly been our honor to be a part of your journey, and we hope you've gained a little insight, knowledge, and confidence throughout.
If you have the time (we understand if you don't!) drop us an email and let us know how your pregnancy, labor, and delivery went.
We'd also love to hear how the transition from pregnancy to motherhood is going. If you have any great pregnancy tips, humorous stories, or general maternal insight, feel free to contact us. Maybe we'll include it in an upcoming article.
Before you regard this as a final goodbye, remember that we have more information about baby showers, choosing a name, free baby stuff, general baby info, and toddlers and kids. We'd love to be a part of your lives beyond pregnancy!
And with that, we wish you the best of luck with your new baby and your new life!

You've been on quite a journey as well, young father. Congratulations Dad, you've done a great job! Remember how strange and wonderful it felt the first time you said the words "my wife"? Well, try on "my son" or "my daughter" for size and feel your heart swell with pride.
What advice can we give you at this point? Pretty much the same thing we've been saying throughout this entire journey: be supportive! The role a man can play in pregnancy and childbirth is often understated, but ask any young mother who's had a supportive father by her side, and she'll tell you how invaluable he has been to her, and the child.
You can now look ahead to a future of endless possibilities. Will he play football, or baseball? Will she be a concert pianist, or a drummer in a rock band? What will the world look like to your young child? It will be a world that you and your partner will help shape and create. One journey is over, but another one--more challenging, joyous, fun, and wonderful--is just beginning!
