Your doctor or midwife will want to know your medical history, as well as the father's. He or she will also ask about your family history of genetic and birth defects. Your urine will be sampled for protein, hCG and other chemicals. Also:
Your doctor or midwife will also talk to you in general about pregancy, nutrition, and what to expect in the weeks ahead. If you have any questions, be sure to ask them. Your health care professional is there to help and guide you--take advantage!

Talk to your doctor. Close monitoring during the early weeks is crucial to ensuring the best possible pregnancy.

Baby is now between 8 and 11 mm. That's similar to a medium sized bead, or the height of a wide ring. Still so tiny, but getting bigger every week!
Also in week 8:
The very beginnings of baby's genitals are starting to appear. Though not fully developed, these gonads will soon become either testes or ovaries.

Now is the time to play your cards right and pamper the mother-to-be. Lucky for you, we have a list of fun and creative pregnancy activities to enjoy with your special woman. Have fun!
